We are huge fans of the Humble Bundle here at the Caffination HQ, not only do you get to play awesome indie games at a reduced price, but it gives people the option to pay all of the funding for charity as well. This pay what you want scheme is fantastic, and has raised a boatload of cash for the charities involved, namley the EFF, Charity Water, and my personal favorite Child’s Play.
As almost an aside the notice that smaller developers are getting is fantastic, i have found more game studios than ever before from 2dBoy to Gaslamp Games and beyond. I love finding new things and playing awesome games. How do the fine folks at Humble Bundle one up all that?
They collaborate with Mojang, the people who brought you minecraft, to make a game, in one weekend with a marathon coding session. Wherein all proceeds go to charity.
“Mojang has one weekend to make your game  live! The indie studio Mojang will be livestreaming all the glory and drama of making a brand new game in 60 hours. Based on a poll of more than 100,000 users, Mojang is tackling a real-time strategy shoot ’em up with a steampunk ancient Egypt theme!”
And you can even watch the whole Mojam go down LIVE! over at HumbleBundle.com but don’t take our word for it. watch the promo below.
